I have LOVED Hanson for 10 years now, since I was a tomboy girl moving year after year. I used to respect them, I really did, I was like “these guys have wonderful morals, I wanna be like that.” But as time grew, so did my obsession, it seemed like everyone who liked Hanson were almost as obsessed as me. I had tons of crazy friends who were fans. I am not insulting anyone, but that’s how it was and how it still is sometimes. How can you not? They’re drawn us into their little trap, their ditch that they’ve dug for us? Its like a butterfly drawn to water, how you resist those goofy smiles, their reasonably talented voices and those deep crystal blues… Oh sorry got distracted there, sorry. As I was saying how could you not resist, and they HAD such great morals. Actually I think the only one who has the morals he says he has, is Zachary and he actually has it. Like he admits he’s not perfect but that these things he says he is, he actually lives up to standard and to what he says his morals are. Isaac well he doesn’t really talk about religion all that much, now I am not saying he doesn’t talk about it, but he’s kind of in the middle of this subject. And yeah he was a party boy. Now he’s settling down with his family and he’s pretty normal. Then we turn our eyes to those crystal blue, trying to be innocent eyes. Taylor fucking Hanson. Oh shit swooned there for a minute, damn that boy is fine. But boy is he a bitch.  Well maybe not really a bitch, that would be calling him gay, and though his clothes are border lining on gay they don’t make the man. But even though he does have few gay traits, I don’t think he is gay. If he is, stupid him for hiding it. It would probably make him hotter in my eyes. But that wasn’t what I was talking about. Haha. Taylor Hanson is a compulsive liar, and I don’t mean he lies twenty-four-seven or anything. But I mean he’ll tell anyone anything to make THEM happy, he tells them what he wants to hear. He’s supposed to be this Christian from Oklahoma, who loves his wife and family, then you’ll see him on shows like Howard Stern and it all about drugs and alcohol, and rock and roll, and even sex. You see pictures of him with other woman, partying, when he probably should be at home with his wife and children. Yes, just maybe, his wife told him to go and have fun, but does that mean you have to listen. Me I’d want to stay at home with my family. I think that if he goes to these things, he should take his wife, or if she doesn’t want to go, then act like a married man. Now I’m not saying that, hanging with those girls was all he did, there could be an entirely different story behind that, and I am willing to be open-eyed about that.  What I am TRYING to say is, he says he’s religious and that it means a lot, but good religious men don’t, especially Evangelists, do not get their wives pregnant 4 months before they're even married, both Taylor and Isaac have fault here, but Isaac never pushed the fact that he was perfect. They don't go to parties and get lit and hang all over girls either, they don't swear as much as he does, they don't party as much as he does...  He's human.. he's bound to be flawed, just because he had that pretty little face and perfect physique.. don't mean he's perfect, but he shouldn't claim to be perfect. One minutes this big Rockstar and next on Oprah then he brags about being a sweet little Christian from Oklahoma who loves his wife and family.. you can't be both! He's whatever people want him to be. And this pisses me off completely, chose something boy. Yeah we all make mistakes, and we all have good times, but if you want to be a good little Oklahomian Christian boy then do it, don’t contradict yourself with doing the opposite, decide who you are already. Rockstar? Oklahomian Singer/Father. Either way he needs to make a decision before he stuff it all up and has nothing. That’s my opinion, and only part of it. Lets turn to the music shall we? First off, I personally hate MMMBop don’t ask me why, it’s not the young minded lyrics I despise, it’s the fact they continue to sing it when their morals have changed. *shrugs* I mean they weren’t there were they, they may have started out like that, but where are their friends and family now? Sitting at home waiting for them to come home. Yeah, back to the Taylor subject I guess. Did you know a lot of people bitched about those pictures. And I laughed, read everything everyone said and thought, shit who gives  fuck? But after hearing a lot I decided to write this, now this is NOT just my view, I do not completely agree with this whole essay, it’s a piece of art, nothing more nothing less. Why do I feel I have to state this? Maybe I don’t want lawyers gnawing on my earlobes, unless its that blond lawyer from Boston Legal. Haha. And maybe because I am not a bad person, but someone who like to collect views. We all like to say we don’t care, yet I bet somewhere in there it aches. Just as much as the first time we found out the beautiful eyed sex symbol had a girl friend. There were broken hearts everywhere… see a pattern? Haha. But BACK to the music. Haha. I look through this past ten years of Hanson music, I watch it go back and forth as they try to act certain ages for certain people. I think maybe now its only that we started to see them, growing themselves. I love Hanson’s music, they are talented, yes. But they’re not Legend material, they never will be now. They have taken that step down to Independent and that is more than likely where they’ll stay. I think yeah they could stay around for a very long time, but they’ll never be like they were. And I think that is something important they need to think about. I know they have faith, but here from a listeners point of view, they’re good but not that good.  For one thing most of their good songs are non released and should have been, there were quite a few song there that could’ve replaced on The Walk. I know a lot of people prefer to listen to them, more than The Walk. I’m not saying everyone is like that, I personally love The Walk myself, and it’s very good music. Well thought out and full of meaning? Did Zac write the meaningful ones, I am guessing so. Isaac likes his romance, and Taylor likes his little “stories”. But I think Zac puts the most thought behind his work. Songs like; Broken Angel, fire on the mountain , Strong enough to break, The walk. His songs don’t tend to follow a certain song pattern like the other tow. Not that I don’t love their songs, just for different reasons. Taylor; One More Time, Penny and Me (even if he forgets the words.) Isaac; So Lovely, If you say you Love Me (I do)… they are all wonderful in each of their own ways. Make me swoon in a sentence or two too.  I will always LOVE and HATE Hanson, with all their imperfections, and with all the lies. But It doesn’t mean I respect them any longer, the thing is respect is earned, so it CAN be taken away. When you’re in the spotlight, you know how you should act… not famous. But as what you say you are. You contradict yourself, people get pissed. Fans, the public, the media everyone. Media loves juicy gossip, they don’t care that these boys might actually have hearts. Its like me, I have a heart, but I do my job, and I turn myself cold so I can do it well. But I am not like them, I would not go out with the thought of ripping a marriage apart, just with the thought that maybe my words can push different views into the world. I don’t like these rose colored glasses over my eyes. But you know what, its safe, Hanson are safe, they’re part of me now. And to rip off these glasses, would that be death to myself? My LOVE for Hanson will continue on as it always have. Maybe with more people hating me? Maybe with people loving me? Maybe with a bit if respect, maybe I’ll even lose some. But when you’re honest you take that risk, and it’s part of life. And that in itself is a certain kind of respect.
